What should I bring to a Bikram / hot yoga class?
You’ll want water, a yoga mat, a towel (often two), and comfortable minimal clothing. A small electrolyte strategy can help if you sweat heavily.

What’s the difference between Bikram Yoga and “hot yoga” classes at other studios?
Bikram is one standardized sequence (26 & 2). Many “hot yoga” classes are heated but vary widely in sequencing, pacing, and style (vinyasa, power, sculpt, etc.).

How often should I practice to see results?
Most people notice changes with 2–3 classes per week. Strength, balance, and flexibility improve faster with consistency than intensity. Recovery days still count.

How should I prepare for a Bikram / hot yoga class (hydration + electrolytes)?

The best “hot class” sessions are usually won before you walk into the room—by hydrating steadily and adding minerals when needed. A common rule of thumb you’ll hear is about half your body weight in ounces of water per day (example: 180 lb → ~90 oz), but needs vary with heat, sweat rate, medications, and activity level.

Simple prep plan:
  • Day before: drink consistently (don’t “chug” at night) and include salty/mineral foods.
  • 2–3 hours before class: have a solid water intake and a light snack prefferably 90 minutes before class if needed.
  • 30–60 minutes before: small sips only—avoid overloading your stomach.
  • After class: replace fluids + minerals (especially if you sweat heavily).

Coconut water can be a gentle way to add potassium and overall hydration support. Cucumber juice is another clean option that feels light in the stomach and can be refreshing in heat. If you ever feel nauseous, lightheaded, or crampy, back off intensity and prioritize recovery.
